How long does professional football prep take?
Turnaround varies by order size and seasonal demand. Schedule before camp, the regular season, or playoffs whenever possible.

Can schools send their own team footballs?
Yes. Schools can send approved footballs for prep-only service or order game-ready Wilson footballs directly.

What does football conditioning improve?
It removes the slick factory finish, softens the leather, and develops a more consistent grip and broken-in feel.

Do you prepare bulk high school team orders?
Yes. Bulk orders are supported so teams can build consistent practice and game-day rotations.

GameReadyFootballPrep prepares high school game balls for consistent grip, softer leather, and a dependable broken-in feel. Schools can order game-ready Wilson footballs or send team footballs to our nationwide prep facility before camp, the regular season, or playoffs.

Why High School Teams Use Professional Football Prep

New leather footballs often arrive slick and stiff. Professional conditioning removes the factory finish and develops a uniform feel across the full team set. That helps quarterbacks, centers, receivers, and coaches work with footballs that feel consistent in practice and on Friday night.

Our 12-Step High School Football Conditioning Process

PREP MY FOOTBALLS

Step 1
Elite power brushing removes factory dye coating from the leather surface.
Step 2
Surface conditioning begins opening the leather pores.
Step 3
Leather Mojo Conditioner is applied and given sufficient time to dry.
Step 4
Hand brushing begins the texture development process. And We apply Conditioner on a rag to remove any excess dye. We avoid any product that will dry out the leather like shaving cream.
Step 5
Elite Power brush is used again to help dye removal and to aid us in opening pores of the leather.
Step 6
The football is brushed again to evenly distribute conditioning and applying a proprieatary blend.
Step 7
Leather Balm with tack is applied and used with Balldryer technolgy to soften the leather
Step 8
We now have a nice dark football that has enough tack for mud to apply.
Step 9
Lena Blackburne mud is mixed with a secret blend and milshake consistency
Step 10
12/24 Hours of Lena Blackburne mud application begins building natural tack.
Step 11
Final brushing balances grip and texture across the panels.
Step 12
Leather Conditioner is applied as we prepare to clean off any excess mud and brush for a finished prepped footballs. We do add more steps if the look or feel have not been met... All Leather reacts different.
