Each football sold comes with dye preservatives for shelf purposes. Before reaching the leather and going thru the process of breaking it in, it’s critical to remove it. The attached photo is a great example of a TikTok Prepper putting out bad information and to the right is one of my preps of the same football. It is visible to the eye the wax and dye are still covering the leather. The only thing he is doing is adding layers of junk and wasted materials. Footballs are much to expensive for bad practices. The process is an art and one has to keep mastering the craft.
